Garden and Literary Landscape for the King, 18th century

The pattern is composed of the following elements in the Palace in Germany:
(1) the ruins of ancient Rome
(2) the four allegorical female sculptures of music, art, architecture, and astronomy
(3) Friedrich's Rococo pattern
(4) grapes and fruits
(5) The opening poem of "De Rerum Natura" by Lucretius (Roman philosopher).
For the king, the palace and its Rococo style were a place where he could escape from politics and power and devote himself to philosophy or music.
This is why the idea of the "Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove" is overlapped with the design of the palace.
"The Seven Sages were 3rd century Chinese scholars who engaged in philosophical discourse in a bamboo grove away from politics, where they gathered to drink, read poetry, play music and discuss philosophy.
"F-Rococo"
The design of the palace built in 18c fully reflects King's literary perspectives. In this series, a pattern symbolises the idea of this king who had an Enlightenment philosophy. Furthermore, the decoration of the Palace incorporates a lot of nature, so we feel the extension of nature outside into the room.
This perspective of "bringing the outside in" is abstracted into a pictorial context in different media and sizes, such as a wall painting and repeated stamps.

Fのロココ
ドイツにある、啓蒙思想の王の宮殿に着想を得た作品。
王とって宮殿と庭は、軍事・合理主義から離れ、ロココの絵のように自然に囲まれながら哲学や音楽に没頭できる場所であり、宮殿の装飾には自然と芸術と読書を愛した王の思想が色濃く反映される。
本作では、王にとってのロココを象徴する模様に、中国3世紀の文化人「竹林の七賢」（権力やお金、名声から距離を置き、竹林で酒や音楽を楽しみ清談をした。）のモチーフが重なる。時代も場所も異なる両者に、資本主義社会を生きる我々も共感する哲学を感じた。無憂宮の装飾はとりわけ動植物を多く採用し、大きな窓や鏡の使い方など、装飾を含め、部屋の中にいながら屋外を強く感じる構造となっている。この、「外側を内側にとりこむ」というキーワードをきっかけにして、本シリーズを展開した。
作品では、外側に開かれたオープンスクエアが、Fロココと竹林の七賢の思想の象徴として、紙のドローイングから壁画へと、小さくなったり大きくなったり、少し形を変えたり、スタンプになったりと、繰り返し登場する。
